Experimental photoshoot with mylar
For this month’s workshop at AVI Studio, we hosted an open-shoot event where photographers experimented with mylar. Mylar is a highly reflective polyester film commonly used in packaging and industrial applications, but did you know it’s also great for creating lighting effects for photos and videos?
Here are the ways we used mylar on set:
As an abstract backdrop
To bounce light off and create water-like reflections
As a surface to capture the model’s reflective image
