October 2024 Workshop Recap
Discovering one of the most vital aspects of photo and film: lighting!
During our October workshop, our students explored different lighting techniques for capturing portraits. These techniques can be applied in both photography and film and can be used to achieve certain moods. Here’s a quick run-down of what we did for this workshop:
Set up and used professional studio lights
Assembled light modifiers
Experimented with broad, short and split lighting techniques
Learned about the difference in key, fill and separation lights
Got a chance to take their own headshots
What are AVI Student Workshops? Every first Wednesday of the month, our studio hosts a free workshop for students ages 16-20 looking to pursue the arts, specifically in film, photography, and digital media. Here you can explore, experiment and add to your portfolio!
Our next monthly workshop is Experimental Shoot: Dreamy Haze on November 6th. This is an open photoshoot opportunity so please bring your camera!
