In this special workshop, hosted by cinematographer Michael Pitruzzella, students got hands-on experience with a cinema camera. Here’s a quick recap of what our students got to do:
Build a cinema rig
Learn about all the different components of a rig
Manually expose the image using the exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture and ISO)
Learn about frame rates and experiment with the different use cases
White balance the image using a ColorChecker and white paper
Learn about lenses and focal lengths
Once again, thank you to all the students who came to the workshop and to Michael for putting together a great interactive and insightful session.
What are AVI Student Workshops? Every first Wednesday of the month, our studio hosts a free workshop for students ages 16-20 looking to pursue the arts, specifically in film, photography, and digital media. Here you can explore, experiment and add to your portfolio!
Our next monthly workshop is Portrait Lighting Techniques on October 2nd. Don’t forget to bring your own camera or phone for this one!
